Fear of Clothing

Last week I was interviewed by Wendi C. Thomas, a journalist for Memphis' "Commercial Appeal" concerning a dress code sign at a local restaurant that I felt very strongly against. Here is a photo of what was posted when Andy, Jefferic, and I went to the restaurant early last week:
Picture
Having a dress code is fine, but let's be honest - there is a certain demographic they are trying to keep out, and if you live in Memphis (or the south, for that matter) you know better than to use the "not all black people dress like that/some white people dress like that" excuse. Take a look at Wendi's article and chime in with your thoughts!

It has NOTHING to do with keeping black people out, it has EVERYTHING to do with it is a nicer upscale bar, sorry people don't want hood bangers in their yelling, not all black people dress that way, some dress very nice better then white people. How about we stop trying to use the race card at ever damn turn now. It's getting ridiculous. Everything turns into trying ban black people, I'd like to have one restaurant I can go to without having some dudes ass crack in my face because his pants are to his knees and dropping the N word every other sentence.

Thanks for your comments! Keep in mind that sagging pants isn't on the sign - I think it's obvious we don't want to eat while looking at a butt crack. The fact that you bring sagging into the picture does say something interesting though... :)

Over sized white T'a accompany saggy pants due to the fact it is usually to cover ones ass crack. Also saggy and baggy are one in the same

Hats - everyone has those
Baggy clothing - white black Mexican alien, all wear baggy just looks dumb
Large chains - looks stupid anyways no one does that anymore unless just stupid
Sleeveless shirts for men - well lets think of people who ride motorcycles like cut offs or someone working out, so once again that's all party's
Large plain white Ts - that is more of a black person thing I will agree to that but white people do it to just not as often. So ill give you that one.
Sweat pants or warm up gear - how many people run down Overton square a day? All races; I don't want to be eating a meal enjoying a nice drink with some sweaty camel toed lady who just ran 5 miles sorry.
No sunglasses at night...does this need a explanation, hello it's night time. Who does that to begin WIth
